Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is one of my many weeknesses.

Here is a shoot by the AMAZING Annie Leibovitz for Vogue 2003, featuring the stunning Natalia Vodianova as Alice.
I just love the styling and each designers take on the traditional "Alice" Look!
I must say I just adore John Galliano in this shoot what an amazing Queen of Hearts he makes.

Enjoy =) and Happy Hump Day

DIY - Feature wall

I did these a while ago, but thought I'd share this with you.

I'd been looking at damask print wallpaper, to do a feature wall in our room, and decided that at over $80 a roll it was too expensive!!

So I found a pattern I liked and made a stencil! Those of you who know me well, know that I have done lots of stencil artwork mainly from photos and turning them into canvas but I used the same techniques to do this

I started with this image, and cut it out of a rigid plastic to make the stencil using a craft knife and cutting on a craft cutting board.
Cut out the white portions of the pattern.
When you have finished use painting masking tape to attach stencil to wall as above.
I just got a test pot of paint from my local paint store
Using a paint brush I lightly dabbed the paint on over stencil
*hint* using paint strokes can move the stencil if it has small intricate details, dabbing on ensures the stencil stays in same position *

We are repainting our room in time and I've just done this as a tester and will do it properly once our room is renovated.
As you can see this light blue is quite subtle against the beige.
We will be using a few colours on top of a white base wall and even over lapping them to create a more dramatic effect also I don't agree with too much symmetry so the more random the pattern the better.

Hope you liked =)
Much Love xx

Good Friday

And what a good Friday it has been!

My Mutti and Vater came and helped us out - and brought us lunch =)

Mutti and I did girlie things, like clean the house, do the dishes, made cups of Tea and Coffee, made lunch and looked after the baby, While Papa and Vater built the fence and cut down the disgusting front hedge.

Going a little crazy with the hedge trimmers!

I must say I did help with the pickets wheel-barrowing them out of the garage and taking them to the good men.

It looks amazing, two gates done, so that's the tricky part =)

Loving the higher style pickets too, I must say I'm not overly looking forward to panting this giant fence!!

Pappa Bear hard at work.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend xx

Cuteness Overload

I'm so looking forward to Easter.

Extra long weekend means I have Pappa Bear home - even though he'll probably be finishing our fence!!

So thinking about Easter makes me think of Bunnies, which I am a sucker for -
Then I saw this on Etsy....
Gosh I want one of these for my baby!!

If you are not so into the cutesy-ness check out Andy Riley's books The Bunny Suicides
This is one of my favourites =)

Numero Uno

Hallo my pretties,
Blog number one, and it's been a busy Saturday with lots of visits and an unsettled Baby Bear!!

Pappa Bear was digging holes in our front lawn for the new fence for better containment for our pesky pooch (who has taken to running down the road after people on bikes) and keeping the neighbour hood wanderers out! A big deck which will give us a bit of indoor outdoor flow - which we lack!

I'm looking forward to an evening with friends and giving Baby Bear his bath =)

Enjoy your weekend
