DIY - Feature wall

I did these a while ago, but thought I'd share this with you.

I'd been looking at damask print wallpaper, to do a feature wall in our room, and decided that at over $80 a roll it was too expensive!!

So I found a pattern I liked and made a stencil! Those of you who know me well, know that I have done lots of stencil artwork mainly from photos and turning them into canvas but I used the same techniques to do this

I started with this image, and cut it out of a rigid plastic to make the stencil using a craft knife and cutting on a craft cutting board.
Cut out the white portions of the pattern.
When you have finished use painting masking tape to attach stencil to wall as above.
I just got a test pot of paint from my local paint store
Using a paint brush I lightly dabbed the paint on over stencil
*hint* using paint strokes can move the stencil if it has small intricate details, dabbing on ensures the stencil stays in same position *

We are repainting our room in time and I've just done this as a tester and will do it properly once our room is renovated.
As you can see this light blue is quite subtle against the beige.
We will be using a few colours on top of a white base wall and even over lapping them to create a more dramatic effect also I don't agree with too much symmetry so the more random the pattern the better.

Hope you liked =)
Much Love xx
