Birthday Week

Hello there,

It's been a busy week for us here, with my birthday on Tuesday I am now a quarter of a century and I'm feeling the oldest I have ever been!!

I had a lovely day with lots of Jasper Bear cuddles it seems sleeps during the day are no longer on his agenda. As I write this I have just come back from checking on him talking to himself in his cot. He had managed to turn around in his cot 180 degrees!!!
Jasper with best friend and partner in crime, Bowie.
My little Bear is also rolling from his back to his tummy now and getting lodged under couches and smacking his head on the coffee table are now part of our day to day routine.

I was treated to dinner at my mutti and vater's lamb shanks and veg with lemon custards for desert!

I got a new recipe book with a sweet owl on the cover and the most amazing cupcakes from the wonderful Icing on the Cake in Herne Bay. Matt the owner and I met when I was working in retail and he'd just come back from overseas and was renovating the shop. I gave him a good deal on clothes and he said he'd give me a deal on cupcakes for my wedding. see below
Our Cupcake Tower

Lemon Cupcakes

So for my birthday I got Lemon Meringue Cupcakes with an amazing toasted marshmallow top and lemon curdy center...... nom nom =)
soooooo naughty
Check out their website NZ people as they also have an online store now, their presentation boxes are to die for and would make a sweet treat or romantic gift!

My ASOS order, which is my birthday gift from Papa has still not arrived and I am waiting for it anxiously. I'm looking forward to the new injections into my wardrobe to make me feel fab and fresh again. I have just had my hair cut and I'm being a guinea pig for my hairdresser friend tomorrow for colour, so I will post pics of the new me once the transformation is complete

xx sending you much cupcake loving

ASOS

For those of you living under an online shopping rock ASOS is my go to fashion destination.

I flick through pages apon pages of their goodies and admire their styling. Sometimes I'll see an item close to one I already own and will dig it back out and wear it ala ASOS.

Being a stay at home mumma with only papa's income when it comes to staying 'on trend' is difficult, but not impossible. I am not the most stylish person in the world but I have my moments and my go to outfits as I'm sure any one of us has.

My old favourite go to Grey dress
My go to pieces however are nearly all GREY!!! I know most people have that little black dress, but my wardrobe is nearly absent of black minus a leather jacket and some leggings!! Sorry about the self take and the state of my dresser

These are a few of my favourite things!
The last few seasons I have been trying to inject something other than grey into my wardrobe with my newer purchases. I have been favouring the nude palette creams, off whites, blush, nude, lillac and lemon. See below
I have placed an order which is in transit as we speak as my birthday is next week. I am so excited I have bought a new top, skirt and dress all for $90 with free shipping =) How could I say no right? Ok so I got a Grey skirt but it has a gorgeous lace petticoat layer that peeps out the bottom. A cream lacey tunic top and a layered chiffon blush coloured dress with rosettes around the neckline!!

As soon as they arrive I'll take some pictures and show you my new goodies. I'll leave you on this note my pets until next time xxxx

Does baby spew come out of silk?

If so I want everything!!!!

Why has it taken me sooo long to discover this brand?!

How did I descover it.. well I fell upon it as it's now on sale on nzsale I must say I am in love with each and every piece, the styling, the hair, the make up I introduce you to.......

uscari

It's floaty and feminine yet rough and tumble and dark.
This is where the wild things are stomping through the desert with ropes as belts, leg wraps, arm wraps, head scarves. It's rustic and so clean and modern.
Can you tell I'm obsessed?! Pappa Bear would be very upset if I spent all the grocery money on these beautiful pieces, cos sweet things I want to rock these looks so bad my teeth hurt!!

Take a peek at their website here and they are also on facebook

Take it easy and let me know what YOU think xx

PJ Day

Being a new mum to a baby boy who is a happy spiller I have taken to slobbing around at home a bit!

I don't dress up, or get dressed for that matter unless I am going somewhere, sometimes I have to change myself and baby bear 4 times a day!!

This does not help me feel more attractive or more elegant I am a walking spew cloth!!

However from now I am setting a goal, only one PJ day a week!!!

Today is that one day, it's raining, it's cold and I have no plans so today is our hibernation day.

We are enjoying lots of cuddles, hot drinks *coffee for me, milk for baby* Baby also enjoyed a bounce in his jolly jumper and lots of bad singing and dancing by me!!!

I'm not a pink person and I find it hard to find PJs that aren't pink but check out this cami, by Hot Milk which i live in even though I'm not breast feeding any more it's sooo comfy =)
I love the lace the dots the dangling pearl its so girlie and classy and I have matching undies =) gotta love a matching set!!!

Are you a PJ girl too? Where do you get yours?! Well I'm off now to blow raspberries and speak gibberish xxxx

Have a good day =)

PROGRESS

So I started by posting the pics WAY back on Easter weekend of the start Pappa Bear and my Vater made on our fence.....

Pappa Bear did finish it that weekend!!!!

We also made a mailbox

From our Driveway

From the road
It is one HUGE fence, which we will be painting white a chore I am so not looking forward to!!!

And since then he has built our deck, check it out =)

First came the bearers

Then the framing

The helpers taking cover under the tree from the rain!!

I helped nail off the decking

Our new entrance

Our Furbaby Bowie LOVES IT!!

Who's that through the pickets?

Pappa hard at work
We still have to get the stairs done, planter box, seat up the far side and our pagoda roof......

I'm so proud of my builder and of my little man for being able to sleep through hammering, saws and the general ruckus of renovation!!

Thanks for stopping by, stay classy San Diego, but most importantly thanks for stopping by!!
(I watched Ancorman AGAIN last night)
