hair funk
i'm in a major hair funk
i'm stuck and i don't know what to do so i turn to you, my bloggy world friends and complete random strangers who may happen across my ramblings
i've been blonde, i've been caramel, i've been brunette, i've gone black and at the moment i'm trying the ombre trend....
as you can tell i bore easily, to say i chop and change may be an understatement....
i decided to get on the ombre wagon as i was having a baby and it was low maintenance and i'd forgotten what my natural colour was...
i had tried to do this a few years ago but my hairdresser at the time had no idea what i was on about and gave me a blonde under colour.. it was well and truly awful
so i took this pic with juju bear yesterday please ignore my manic smile, but as cool as my hair looks i just feel a bit blah about it all
here are some of the looks i've rocked in the past, but i desperate to grow my hair long and have been trying to do so for a few years
i love the blonde but it's high upkeep and i like the very cool tones and think brunette tones are too red and warm for my pale colouring. i think black is very striking like zoe decshanel with her blue eyes and pale skin, then i see elisha cuthbert and i like her colour too i think i could do either but i am at a loss, they are so different it's one extreme or the other
i'd love to hear your thoughts or opinions what trends are you stuck over?!
love to you all
p.s happy hump day only 2 more days until the weekend

Update
wow what a slacker i have been sorry blog world!
things have carried on with their crazy pace over here, dining table is finished so are chairs.
so i sanded back the chairs as you may have seen on past blog entry and then spray painted in three thin coats to get this gloss finish.
i love the primary colours and now when people are over it's easy to tell them where to sit =)
Our table was an old panel door i found under the house which papa belt sanded back leaving little flecks of the 3 layers of paint, first white, then blue and on top was a pistachio colour. we used a two pot self leveling laquer which has the finish of glass!!
it looks pretty special and when we move on, a neat way to remember our first home!!
i also have made a new picture using buttons.
my mum, grandma and i used to collect all the buttons you get with clothes in a little container and they were organised by colour, so i did this on a blank canvas using a hot glue gun ....

i think it's come out really nicely and i'm pretty chuffed with it =)
our baby bear is doing so well, he's commando crawling so fast now he follows us into our room and around the kitchen. follow the trail of drool like a snails trail and there he is goobies and all!!
his nose is still a bit runny but it's not affecting him one little bit i'll leave you with his cheeky smile
xx yay it's friday have a good weekend i promise i'll be back very soon as i have way more to tell you =)

Revelation
i have been wondering the last few days, if i should post this or not.
i may not include photos but i will wait and see.
i went out with my mother on wednesday, i wore an outfit i thought was cute. grey jersey maxi dress with a vintage lilac shirt tied up under my bust with sleeves rolled up and little white pumps. i'd worn this while i was pregnant and had been told i looked lovely, i was only 6 months with a slight protrude at the front!
i thought it's bound to look ok now. i was lucky that during my pregnancy i only gained 10kg but i'm still heavier now than i was before, after have a c-section and jasper not breast feeding, well my body is still slightly lumpy and bumpy.
i asked mum to take some pics of us as it was a lovely sunny crisp winters day and we were walking through a lovely park, my intentions were to share this 'cute' outfit with you. i don't claim to be the next big fashion icon i am just a normal girl not too flashy not a hard core vintage thrifter but i think i have some sense of style that maybe someone will appreciate.
well mum took some pictures, one of which was from behind!!!!! needless to say my love handles and panty line could be seen a mile away! I felt ashamed to have got dressed and walked out of the house looking like this! (i really need to buy a full length mirror)
thus bringing me to my revelation that i really need to zumba more often, watch what i eat a bit better and re evaluate my wardrobe and maybe stop hanging onto things in the hope i will fit them again. like my favourite alice mccall grey jeans which are a size 8 and i'm now a size 13 =( which i have had for years!!
rant over.... have a lovely weekend xo

Breakfast at Tiffany's....
......... if you have experienced the classic that is Breakfast at Tiffany's and like me feel in love with Holly's charm and her apartment you will have noticed her sofa is a claw foot bath..
i love love love it like crazy and have kept my eye out for a cheap bath that maybe i could modify myself...but i have no idea where i would put it or how practical it is, but it's just so darn cool!!
then here i am aimlessly trawling the magical world of etsy and i come across this gem
the colours are so cute and whimsical check out the listing here
I can just see me and papa bear chilling out on this bad boy, but alas i'll have to find something closer to home, or maybe find a way to do it myself, could be a nice outdoor couch for our deck in the summertime don't you think?
ciao darlings xox

Bedroom...progress
so i have mentioned in a few posts the changes we are making to our bedroom. just to refresh your memories, we have turned our wardrobe into an alcove for our bed to sit in (so our heads are no longer under a window - papa bear and mines pet peeve!!)
i will be getting a brand new wardrobe space built by papa with no doors and fixed/floating on the wall! so for the mean time my clothes are EVERYWHERE!!
This is how we are getting on...

things are looking good and one more coat of plaster and we can get started on decorating. i can't wait to show you the wallpaper i was allowed to get (was on sale 1/2 price)
things are getting on here slowly but surely. i asked papa to take a break to spend some time with me and baby, as i was feeling a little left out. i know i'm lucky to have a wonderful hubby who works so hard to support us during the day and then spends weekends and evenings trying to get our wee house just the way we want it, but he needs a rest every now and again too!
let me know what you think, i just love getting comments so don't be afraid to leave them
until next time

Birthday Week
Hello there,
It's been a busy week for us here, with my birthday on Tuesday I am now a quarter of a century and I'm feeling the oldest I have ever been!!
I had a lovely day with lots of Jasper Bear cuddles it seems sleeps during the day are no longer on his agenda. As I write this I have just come back from checking on him talking to himself in his cot. He had managed to turn around in his cot 180 degrees!!!
My little Bear is also rolling from his back to his tummy now and getting lodged under couches and smacking his head on the coffee table are now part of our day to day routine.
I was treated to dinner at my mutti and vater's lamb shanks and veg with lemon custards for desert!
I got a new recipe book with a sweet owl on the cover and the most amazing cupcakes from the wonderful Icing on the Cake in Herne Bay. Matt the owner and I met when I was working in retail and he'd just come back from overseas and was renovating the shop. I gave him a good deal on clothes and he said he'd give me a deal on cupcakes for my wedding. see below
So for my birthday I got Lemon Meringue Cupcakes with an amazing toasted marshmallow top and lemon curdy center...... nom nom =)
Check out their website NZ people as they also have an online store now, their presentation boxes are to die for and would make a sweet treat or romantic gift!

ASOS
For those of you living under an online shopping rock ASOS is my go to fashion destination.
I flick through pages apon pages of their goodies and admire their styling. Sometimes I'll see an item close to one I already own and will dig it back out and wear it ala ASOS.
Being a stay at home mumma with only papa's income when it comes to staying 'on trend' is difficult, but not impossible. I am not the most stylish person in the world but I have my moments and my go to outfits as I'm sure any one of us has.
My go to pieces however are nearly all GREY!!! I know most people have that little black dress, but my wardrobe is nearly absent of black minus a leather jacket and some leggings!! Sorry about the self take and the state of my dresser
The last few seasons I have been trying to inject something other than grey into my wardrobe with my newer purchases. I have been favouring the nude palette creams, off whites, blush, nude, lillac and lemon. See below
I have placed an order which is in transit as we speak as my birthday is next week. I am so excited I have bought a new top, skirt and dress all for $90 with free shipping =) How could I say no right? Ok so I got a Grey skirt but it has a gorgeous lace petticoat layer that peeps out the bottom. A cream lacey tunic top and a layered chiffon blush coloured dress with rosettes around the neckline!!
As soon as they arrive I'll take some pictures and show you my new goodies. I'll leave you on this note my pets until next time xxxx
